The Group Corporation and Zambia Signed an Agreement on Kariba North Shore Power Plant Extention Project

In November 19 the International Company of the Group Corporation and Zambia National Electric Power Company signed EPC contract agreement on Kariba North Shore Power Plant extention project in Zambia capital Lusaka. Deputy General Manager of the International Company Song Dongsheng and general manager of Zambian National Electric Power Company Chisarah represented both sides to sign separately in the agreement. China in Zambian Embassy Ambassador Li Qiangmin, General Manager of Import and Export Bank of China Dai Chunning and Zambian Energy and Irrigation Minister KongJia and permanent secretary attended the signing ceremony.
 

Kariba Power Station was founded in 1959 and locates in Zambezi river in the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. The installed capacity is 600,000 kilowatts. North shore extention project includes the water inlet, the derivation tunnel, the underground workshop expansion, the tailwater system and the supply, installment and debugging of mechanical and electrical equipment. The installation equipment is 360,000 kilowatts. The contract signing amounts to 279,500,000 US dollars (including 15% unpredictable expense), the time limit for the project is 48 months.
