Fan Jixiang Visits the Democratic Republic of Congo and Signs Package Cooperation Agreement
From January 26 to 28, on the invition of the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, General Manager of Sinohydro Corporation Fan Jixiang participated in the delegation which was led by President of Import and Export Bank of China Li Ruogu and visited the Democratic Republic of Congo. The delegation received high specification reception from Congo government Congo President Josef Kabila met with President Li Rougu, General Manager Fan Jixiang and General Manager China Railway Corporation Li Changjin.
At 16:50 on the afternoon of January 28 local time, the signing ceremony on the mining industry development and the infrastructure construction cooperation agreement was held in Kinshasa Hotel. On behalf of the Chinese Enterprise of China Railway Corporation and Sinohydro Corporation, General Manager Fan Jixiang and Minister of Reconstruction Department Pierre representing the Congo government signed separately in the agreement. China Ambassador in Democratic Republic of Congo Wu Zexian, President of Import and Export Bank of China Li Ruogu, General Manager of China Railway Corporation Li Changjin attended the signing ceremony.
Both sides cooperated on the development of Congo’s mineral resources, combining the resources superiority of Congo with the fund, technology and international project strength of China. The signature of cooperation agreement symbolized a new milestone of the bilateral cooperation, which impels the social economy development of the Democratic Republic of Congo and has the vital significance of further consolidating and promoting the China and Congo relations and the traditional friendship between the two countries.
