Chinese VP: China willing to work “comprehensively” with Sudan
In Beijing, Vice President Xi Jinping met with Sudan’s envoy, Ghazi Salah Al-Din.
Xi told his guest China is willing to work comprehensively with Sudan to promote bilateral ties between the countries. He said China is well prepared for the upcoming Olympics, adding the Games will succeed with the support of the international community.
The vice president also said China is paying close attention to the International Criminal Court’s call to arrest Sudanese President, Omar Al-Bashir.
He said the international community should focus on the deployment of the joint African Union-United Nations peacekeeping mission in Darfur.
He added related parties should be cautious in dealing with the issue and respect the stance of the African and Arab Unions, in a bid to maintain the peace process in the region.
