China Unicom confirms involvement with bidder for Nigerian Telecommunications
China Unicom last night released a report, confirming its involvement in the recent privatization of Nigerian Telecommunications Plc.
China Unicom (Europe), a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Unicom, got in touch with the potential bidder for Nigerian Telecommunications and was interested in providing the technical services and operational management support for the “proposed privatization”, and would discuss equity investment possibilities with the Nigerian company.
Negotiation between China Unicom (Europe) and other relevant parties on specific legally binding agreement terms, while China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd., as well as China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd. did not have direct talks with any parties on the aforementioned “proposed privatization”, said the report.
China Unicom (Europe) is mainly engaged in the local telecommunications operation services in the UK and Europe.
